Wednesday 27 February 2008 - AGM

This was a very productive meeting and we took away several points to work on. A lot of bridleways were discussed and problems associated with them. Also arising from this was the problem of dangerous dogs on routes. Last year we did have reports of dangerous dogs running loose at the top of the Magna Via from the Hipperholme end. This was addressed by the Police, dog warden and Council, and the dogs concerned appear to have been penned. However there has been on occasion a solitary dog loose. If you encounter problems with this dog, or any other dogs, please report it to the police and ask for a crime reference number. The British Horse Society are also currently compiling a report on incidents involving dogs and horses. Please would you therefore also either report these directly to them or contact us with information and we will pass this on.

Monday 5 May 2008 - Treasure Hunt and Pleasure ride from Upper Hagstock.

This was a lovely day--the sun shone (mostly!), it was warm and 22 people took part, with a mixture of walkers, cyclists and horse riders. There was a fairly even split between people completing the short or long route and everyone appeared to have enjoyed the day. Thank you to Lyn for compiling the clues and to both Lyn and Norma for ensuring the day went smoothly. We also gained some new members from this event. The winning teams are listed below and just in case you were wondering, there were some golden pine cones and silver painted stones on the wall above the venue--I missed them!
